"Awesome!"
That's how attendees describe
"Foundations Entertainment University"

Three-day education extravaganza returns to Kansas City, Missouri for successful 4th edition
Comprehensive workshop shows how to design, build and operate profitable destination entertainment sites

Kansas City, Missouri - Attendees said there was just one word to describe the
fourth edition of Foundations Entertainment University:

"Awesome."

"Awesome," raved Fred Hurley of Conway, AR. "The information dispensed was
EXACTLY what I was looking for!"

The fourth edition of Foundations Entertainment University (FEU) took place July 27-29 at the Four Points Sheraton Barcelo Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri. In addition to three days of seminars and networking, a fun-filled field trip to Paradise Park Family Entertainment & Children's Edutainment Center (Lee's Summit) provided students with hands-on learning and real-world examples.

FEU4 was notable for more women entrepreneurs and for including a stronger focus on "edutainment" and indoor/outdoor attractions as part of its broad-based cirriculum. Around 50 participants, including 40 students and eight of the 20 Elite Foundations Sponsors, participated in this highly interactive educational extravaganza led by five of the most respected FEC experts in the industry: Randy White (White-Hutchison Leisure & Learning, Kansas City, MO); Frank Seninsky (Amusement Entertainment Management / Alpha-Omega Amusements, East Brunswick, NJ); Alan Fluke of All Entertainment & Associates (Raleigh, NH); Peter Olesen of Peter F. Olesen & Associates (Mount Prospect, IL); and Jerry Merola of Amusement Entertainment Management (AEM).

The FEC business continues to attract successful business people from other fields who seek to expand their horizons. But no matter how successful they are in other fields, many FEU students admit they're suprized to discover how much there is to know about running a profitable family entertainment center and grateful for the opportunity to learn the crucial lessons that spell the difference between success or failure, BEFORE they spend millions creating their facilities.

Topics covered at FEU 4 included; The Market ~ Site Selection ~ Feasibility ~ Costs ~ Financing ~ Design ~ Food & Beverage ~ Games ~ Safety ~ Marketing ~ Birthday Parties ~ Groups ~ ADA and other legal requirements ~ Operations ~ and more. As always, great emphasis was placed on avoiding costly mistakes that are typical of newcomers, and ensuring profitability from Day One of a new site's operation. The curriculum applies to anything and everything from a family game zone that complements a bowling center or theme park, to a $10 million standalone outdoor pocket theme park.

FEU now boasts 20 Elite Sponsors including the latest additions to the list, Naythons Display Fixtures, HMS Monaco and SureShot Redemption. A few weeks after FEU 4 Master Pitching Machine and U.S. PizzaWorks joined the Foundations Elite Sponsors family. Sponsors pitch in with the interactive education sessions and make themselves available for consultation and dialog throughout the three-day affair. FEU has generated more than $5.6 million in new business for its elite sponsors through opportunities with attendees, or with speakers, or sponsor-to-sponsors.

Graduates of the conference program received a complete, bound copy of all presentation materials, as well as a full set of worksheets (one for each person attending), a Foundations Entertainment University diploma, plus sponsor demos and special discounts.

The next edition of Foundation Entertainment University (FEU 5) will take place February 8-10 in Dallas, Texas. Early registration is available (don't miss out): One person $595, two or more people from same company $500 per person. Regular Registration: One person $695; two or more from same company, $600 per person. Late registration after 1/25/05: $795 per person; two or more from same company, $700 per person.
